Bob Cooney

Bob Cooney is a seasoned singer/songwriter and guitarist from Middletown, PA who has been performing for many years in mid-Atlantic region. His finger style guitar playing and his smooth vocals and harmonica are complimentary to his extensive repertoire. His genre includes folk, country blues, acoustic classic rock and his own mix of original finger-picking creations.

Bob has shared the stage with artists such as Ritchie Havens, Mary Travers (Of Peter, Paul & Mary), The Outlaws, Asleep at the wheel, Muriel Anderson and John Sebastian. He has been the resident musical artist at the Allenberry Resort and Playhouse for over 20 years.

Bob and Glenn Eliot (Cooney and Eliot) have performed at many clubs and concert venues in the Pennsylvania/Maryland/D.C. area over the years.

Bob is also a cancer survivor, who was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Disease in 1975.
He initially was given a year and a half to live. He underwent radiation therapy and was declared cancer-free in 1980. He now performs at the Cancer Institute at Hershey Medical Center for cancer victims and their families. He shares his healing story and his original songs of endurance and hope.
